Terms & Conditions
1. Services
These terms and conditions apply to all dog training services provided by K9 Dog Training ("we", "us", "our"), including but not limited to puppy training, obedience training, behaviour consultations, reactive dog support, and 1-2-1 home sessions.
By booking a session or programme with us, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before booking.
2. Bookings
All sessions and programmes are subject to availability. A booking is only confirmed once we have communicated acceptance in writing (including by email or message).
We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion, including where we believe a case falls outside our area of expertise or where we have safety concerns.
You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided at the time of booking — including details about your dog's health, history, and behaviour — is accurate and complete. Failure to disclose relevant information may affect the suitability of our services and could have safety implications.
3. Payments
Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. We may require a deposit to secure a booking, with the remaining balance due before or at the session.
We accept payment by the methods agreed at the time of booking. All prices are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
We reserve the right to update our pricing at any time. Any agreed price for an existing booking will be honoured.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that unexpected things happen. Our general cancellation policy is as follows:
- Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with more than 48 hours' notice will normally be accommodated without charge.
- Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours' notice may result in the session fee being charged or the deposit being forfeited.
- In the event that we need to cancel or reschedule a session, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer an alternative date. No charge will be made for sessions cancelled by us.
If your dog becomes unwell or you have a genuine emergency, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you.
5. Owner Responsibility
As the owner or handler of your dog, you remain responsible for your dog's behaviour and safety at all times, including during and after training sessions.
You agree to:
- Ensure your dog is up to date with vaccinations and, where applicable, flea and worm treatments.
- Inform us in advance of any health conditions, injuries, or behavioural history that may be relevant to training.
- Follow our guidance on session preparation, including appropriate equipment.
- Engage with the training process between sessions, as results depend significantly on consistency at home.
- Ensure that your dog is under appropriate control (e.g. on lead where required) until advised otherwise.
We reserve the right to terminate a session at any time if we believe there is a safety risk to any person or animal.
6. Safety and Results Disclaimer
Dog training outcomes vary between individuals. While we work hard to achieve the best results for every dog and owner, we cannot and do not guarantee specific outcomes or timescales.
Results depend on many factors including (but not limited to) the dog's age, history, and temperament, the owner's engagement and consistency, and the complexity of the presenting behaviour.
We are not veterinary professionals. Nothing communicated by us — in sessions, in writing, or otherwise — should be taken as veterinary advice. If you have concerns about your dog's health or welfare, please consult a registered veterinary professional.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with our services is limited to the fees paid by you for the specific session or programme to which the claim relates.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of income, loss of business, or damage to property, except where caused by our negligence or wilful default.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Intellectual Property
Any written materials, training plans, or session notes provided to you are for your personal use only and may not be reproduced, shared commercially, or distributed without our prior consent.
9. Governing Law
These terms and any dispute or claim arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Both parties agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
